I don’t want you to think of this week’s World Music Show (5/18) as a repeat. I know it may seem that way because a bulk of the featured musicians this week you’ve been hearing over the past, well, few weeks. But this is only because as of late I’ve been getting a ton of great world tunes at World Music headquarters (*meaning, my little ol’ desk)
This means that because of the girth of music, I’m able to dig deeper into some really great albums and share tunes you may not hear on Spotify or somewhere else. Let’s get right to the usual suspects.
As I write out this week’s World Music Show (4/20) blog, I’m blaring “Divine Intervention” by Matthew Sweet in the empty office (it’s a holiday weekend for some). Before you comment that it’s not a World Music track, it’s ok--I’m global and play all sorts of things.
Sometimes I feel like I’m a detective--a musical detective. Perhaps my name should be “Magnum Columbo” or “Inspector Dorkus,” because on this week’s World Music Show (2/2/18), I try to uncover some interesting musical tidbits not often heard on the radio. And in this week’s two-parter episode, I’ll be exploring all Brazil has to offer.
If only I could title this week’s World Music Show (1/27) blog “Women Who Rock!” Because that title encompasses the power and the message and the “umph” that I think this week’s show will produce. The alternative title, “World Music Women,” or “Women who are Worldly” just doesn’t have the same feeling.
So what’s a World Music Show host to do?
