The National Weather service is tracking a winter storm that sees both moisture and cold air converging over Central Virginia Sunday and early Monday.
Snow seems more likely as the weekend approaches. “We do think there is going to be potential impact for travel, especially the I-95 corridor as we push through Sunday night into Monday morning,” said Jeff Orrock, Meteorologist in Charge of the National Weather Service in Wakefield. “It’s hard to nail down snow accumulations, but it really is looking like there is the potential for some areas to really see some significant snowfall.”
At present, he says that is most likely along the I-95 corridor South and West, with a wintry mix to the East and North. But, the forecast could change and he urges everybody to keep watch as they continue to track the storm.
