NWS Predicts Three To Four Inches In Metro, But Storm Still Two Days Out

The Winter snow storm is still on track. Question is still, which track?

Accuweather is saying the weekend storm may be the biggest of the season for some Mid-Atlantic cities, with heaviest snow likely along I-64, I-81 and I-95 in Virginia, beginning Saturday afternoon.

The National Weather Service agrees and is now talking about accumulations. Jeff Orrock, National Weather Service said, “I think we are going to see snowfall accumulations ranging from two to three inches somewhere Southeast of Richmond, to maybe upwards of three to four inches, maybe a little bit more across portions of the metro.” Accumulations may be more to the North but it is still two days out.

Forecasters are continuing to work, without pay, to provide forecasts and warnings, despite the shutdown.

The National Weather service says much uncertainty still remains in the forecast and to stay tuned for updates.
