Tropical storm Michael strengthened to a hurricane this morning (10/8/18) , and is expected to get even more powerful as it moves towards the Florida panhandle, on a track that could bring remnants here Thursday.
Jeff Orrock, National Weather Service at Wakefield says Thursday could be windy and wet, but this storm is nothing like Florence. “You know the good news for us with this storm up this far north is that the storm system is going to be moving so quickly as it goes by, but we do expect some wind and some rain from this system.”
He says the track could change. “The big question is going to be the exact timing. Right now it does look like it is going to be sometime Thursday, more like Thursday night into the early parts of Friday.”
