KKK Propaganda And Recruitment Material Published In Small Local Newspaper

This past weekend, someone drove around several streets in the town of Colonial Beach, throwing white nationalist flyers and DVDs into the yards and driveways of local residents. Colonial Beach Police Chief Danny Plott describes what was distributed, “Racially hateful propaganda. That all the fault of the world lie with everybody but white people, and that’s laughable in of itself.”

Chief Plott turned the material over to the Virginia Fusion Center, which tracks extremist activity.

The incident spread far beyond the town when this week’s edition of the Westmoreland News front-paged both fliers. Many residents are angered by the paper’s decision to distribute Klan propaganda to a community of 17,000 people.

The paper's editor, Brittlynn Powell, declined to comment to WCVE, however she told Chief Plott that they were trying to demonstrate that racism is real and not a thing of the past.
