Four students - winners from the Metro Richmond STEM Fair - traveled to Los Angeles to compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair. All four agreed competing with 1,700 other students from all over the world was an education in itself and they had a great time doing it.
Michelle Marquez, a rising sophomore at the Math Science High School at Clover Hill brought home first place and best in category in the Behavioral & Social Sciences category. She was also awarded the Intel Foundation Cultural and Scientific Award. Marquez will be in China for 11 days.
Three students from the Science, Math, and Technology Center at Godwin High, David Lu, Rohan Matthew, and Nayla Labban competed. Lu placed third in Animal Science, and Matthew was third in the Environmental Management category.
