Richmond Symphony Opens the 2018-19 Season with Pianist Lang Lang

The Richmond Symphony will open their 2018-19 with guest pianist Lang Lang this Friday evening (September 21st) in the Carpenter Theatre at Dominion Energy Center. We will broadcast the concert LIVE on WCVE Music (93.1 and 107.3 in Richmond and via our LIVE STREAM). The concert opener is by African-American composer Julia Perry, with Lang Lang performing the Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The evening will conclude with the iconic Symphonie Fantastique by Hector Berlioz.

Music Director Steven Smith stopped by our studios to chat about this exciting concert. By the way, it's sold out, but you can hear the orchestra perform the Berlioz Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. as part of the their new “Symphony in 60” series. Find out more at richmondsymphony.com!

Yours in good music,
