The Richmond Ballet is closing their 2018-19 season this week with their “Studio Three” performances in the Studio Theatre on East Canal Street. The show features “Summerset” by Sacramento Ballet Artistic Director Emeritus Ron Cunningham, “Sweet Bitter Love” by 2017 Kennedy Center Honoree Carmen de Lavallade, and a world premiere by San Francisco-based Rex Wheeler.
Performances are being held May 7th through the 12th. Our good friend Valerie Tellmann-Henning from the ballet stopped by to chat about these works and specifically about Rex Wheeler’s premiere, which is set to Sergei Rachmaninoff’s “Symphonic Dances.”
Yours in good music,
