Sony Classical has released pianist Simone Dinnerstein’s latest album, Broadway-Lafayette, featuring the music of George Gershwin, Maurice Ravel and Philip Lasser. This music celebrates the transatlantic link between France and America, and features conductor Kristjan Jarvi with the MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra.
I recently talked with Ms. Dinnerstein about the album and how she incorporates the music of living composers to her programs. We also discussed her efforts to change the traditional concert experience and her passion for music education, with her establishment of the “Neighborhood Classics” program in the New York City schools.
Take a listen! You can purchase Broadway-Lafayette on amazon.com.
