Grammy award-winning guitarist Jason Vieaux is returning to Virginia this coming week, performing at the Robin Hixon Theater in Norfolk as part of the Virginia Arts Festival. This will be a solo recital on Monday evening, April 15th at 8:00 p.m. An audience favorite, he's a prominent figure in the classical world and has performed with many acclaimed chamber ensembles and more than 100 orchestras. He was also the first classical musician to be featured on NPR’s “Tiny Desk” series.
The Washington Post states “Vieaux ... makes everything look and sound easy. An uncommonly relaxed figure onstage, he seems immersed entirely in the moment. Every note comes out fully formed, but nothing he does feels premeditated, and the music, just a little understated, speaks eloquently for itself.”
Listen in as I talk with Jason about what he's been up to and what you can expect to hear if you venture down to Norfolk on Monday.
Yours in good music,
