Symphony Spotlight highlights the careers of orchestral musicians across the country. My guest for our November segment is Gaelen McCormick, double bass player with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Gaelen joined the RPO in 1995, after holding positions with the Erie Philharmonic, the Binghamton Philharmonic and the Albany Symphony.
Pianist Norman Krieger has collaborated with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and JoAnn Falletta in a new release of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 and the “Emperor,” Piano Concerto No. 5. The recording was done live in Buffalo’s Kleinhans Music Hall. Kreiger is an audience favorite in Buffalo, and regularly appears with many of the major orchestras across North America. His has been highly regarded as “an artist of depth, sensitivity and virtuosic flair.”
