The Community Idea Stations is pleased to offer an internship program to students enrolled in graduate or undergraduate studies or students who have graduated twelve months prior to the time of application. High School students may also be considered.
What We’re Looking For
Interns should be familiar with the stations and public media in general. Successful interns will be inquisitive self-starters who are able to manage time effectively and work as a contributing member of a diverse team. Candidates should be eligible to work in the United States.

How It Works
Interns may assist the Digital, Music, FM News, and Community Engagement Departments. Work schedules are typically weekday daytime hours, 20 hours per week. Internships may be paid or completed in exchange for college credit. Interns are embedded in their department of choice and perform meaningful work designed to help the station achieve its goals and to help the intern receive a real world experience.
When to Apply
Internships and application periods are as follows:
- Winter/Spring: January through May. Applications accepted October 1 – November 15.
- Summer: May through August/September. Applications accepted March 1 – April 15.
- Fall: September through December. Applications accepted July 1 – August 15.
