Charlottesville Viewing Area Program Changes

Fri, 06/15/2018 - 3:17pm -- WCVE

On June 11, 2018, WVPT moved fully under the Community Idea Stations family of stations, joining WHTJ and bringing new viewing options to the Charlottesville market.

In addition to the usual PBS lineup on 51.1, the new WVPT program options are as follows:

  • On 51.2, a new, robust lineup of PBS programming becomes available as a viewing alternative to 51.1. The station features completely different programs, not available on 51.1, and rebroadcasts of favorites you might have missed earlier in the week.
  • "Create" is replacing "World" on 51.3. Create is the TV channel for cooking, arts and crafts, gardening, home improvements, and travel.
  • On 51.4 is a new channel dedicated to PBS Kids -- featuring children's educational and instructional programming 24/7

Note for Cable viewers in Charlottesville: We are currently receiving reports that WVPT channels are not appearing in the listings. We are checking with cable providers to try and rectify this situation as soon as possible.

In addition to the usual PBS lineup on 41.1, the new WHTJ program options are as follows:

  • On 41.2, a new, robust lineup of PBS programming becomes available as a viewing alternative to 41.1. The station features completely different programs, not available on 41.1, and rebroadcasts of favorites you might have missed earlier in the week. This replaces “Create” which can now be found on 51.3 on WVPT.
  • MHz Worldview can still be found on 41.3.
  • On 41.4 is a new channel dedicated to PBS Kids -- featuring children's educational and instructional programming 24/7!

To receive all possible viewing options, over the air viewers should re-scan their televisions.
