Poldark Season 2 Premieres Sunday, September 25

Wed, 09/21/2016 - 9:58am -- WCVE

Poldark returns Sunday, September 25th, 2016 with a 2-hour premiere starting at 8:00 p.m on WCVE PBS / WHTJ PBS. In 18th century Cornwall, times are as tough as the rocky shoreline: unemployment, hunger, and sickness are widespread among the working class, while the wealthy landowners prosper. Only one man dares to defy the status quo, and he is behind bars.

After a new generation of viewers fell in love with adventurer Ross Poldark, Season One’s tragic cliffhanger left fans everywhere reeling. What will become of our swashbuckling hero? Can the ever-resilient Demelza find a way to save him?

Watch Poldark Season 2: Episode One September 25 at 8:00 p.m. on WCVE PBS/WHTJ PBS. Check listings for additional air-times. The series then continues Sundays October 2 - November 27, 2016 at 9:00 p.m.

The series is based on Winston Graham’s sweeping 18th-century novels. The first television adaptation of the series aired on Masterpiece in the 1970s, and now a new generation can delight in the exploits of a romantic hero like no other.

Poldark Season 2 stars Aidan Turner, known for roles in The Hobbit trilogy, and the UK series Being Human. Eleanor Tomlinson, seen in Masterpiece’s Death Comes to Pemberley, co-stars as the fiery redhead Demelza. Also returning are beloved cast members Heida Reed (Elizabeth), Kyle Soller (Francis), Ruby Bentall (Verity), Jack Farthing (George Warleggan), and others.
