September 15, 2011: Virginia Currents dusts off a musical treasure, the vintage Norfolk Sound. Ray T. Jones, entertainer and a retired Command Master, tells us about his musical journey in the late 60’s when he was stationed on the U.S. Barney in Norfolk. Described as being an eclectic mixture of psychedelic fuzz, folky acoustic guitar and funk, Ray’s interpretation of the Norfolk Sound has left impressions on many old and new fans.
It’s one of the country’s biggest Asian spas and it’s in nearby Centreville, Virginia. We step into Spa World, which offers over 50,000 square feet of pure relaxation for women, men and even children.

September 22, 2011: In another Virginia Currents Classic from 2005, we meet Ella Hilton, who tells us about her amazing journey of surviving Stalinist Russia, Nazi Germany and Jim Crow Mississippi and was able to live the American Dream.

Virginia author Feather Schwartz Foster gives us the stories that traditional history text books omit - the love stories of our nation’s famous early presidents and their first ladies from her book, “The First Ladies.”
