Barnstorming and an Homage to One of Our Biggest Fans

Hay Kuhn Lee

In episode #2019, Virginia Currents catches the barnstorming, wing-walking antics of the Flying Circus of Bealeton. We get the reaction of amazed spectators who take flight in these nostalgic planes.

Also, we pay homage to one of Virginia Currents’ biggest fans, Hay Kuhn Lee, May-Lily Lee’s father. Before passing away, he reflected on what life was like for a Chinese-American family just starting out in the 1920’s, being stationed in Fort Meyer, Virginia where he served during WWII and meeting the love of his life. Find out how his love for life touched the lives of those around him including his friends at his neighborhood aquatic center.
