Writers Contest Ending Soon!

PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest

Okay, you’ve got your story idea…now it’s time to put pen to paper! With only a few more weeks left in the PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest, there’s still plenty of time to get your stories in. This year’s contest was made possible with local support from the Virginia College Savings Plan and national support from StudentPublishing.com.

Open to kids in grades K-3, each story can be fact or fiction, prose or poetry – and must be an original work, written and illustrated by the entrant. Every child who submits an original story will be recognized for their effort with a Certificate of Achievement.

All entries must be received by March 23, 2012.

What do most stories have in common? It seems they have…

     • a beginning, middle, and end
     • a central event like a conflict or discovery
     • characters who change or learn a lesson
     • illustrations that help tell the tale

So…what are you waiting for? Time is running out!
