Mobile Technology Is More Than Angry Birds

Charlottesville Workshop

Mobile technology has become strategic to many organizations, businesses, and activties.  Education is no exception and it has enabled learning to take place any time, anywhere.

Cindy Matejka, Education Specialist and Wayne Thomas, Technology Specialist in the Educational Services Department, had the distinct pleasure of working with faculty and staff at Charlottesville City Public Schools on Wednesday, August 17th.  Their presentation entitled, Mobile Technology: It's More Than Angry Birds, impacted both elementary and secondary educators.  The session focused on various cross-curriculum educational applications that can be found on both the iPad Touch and the iPod Touch.  These can be utilized in the classroom setting, and makes education a more exciting and hands-on experience.

Four sessions were presented in ninety-minute increments, and were attended by almost 100 staff members.  Teachers went away with new ideas for integrating this new technology into their lesson plans.

How has mobile technology impacted your classroom?
