What's on the Musical Menu

What’s going on for this week’s World Music Show (5/27)? Well, it’s a star-studded, full blown celebration of some newly released CDs. Or is that overselling it a bit? Either way, there is some great tunes lined up for this week. And, just to give you a taste, here’s a brief menu run-down.

In the appetizer section, your choices are as follows (though, really, you have no choice, since it’s been pre-selected. Perhaps this is a French menu?

On the Metaphorical Turntable

More newness is seeping into yet another week’s World Music Show (5/6). This not only means good news for your ears, but good news for your method of listening—whether it’s a full-blown Hi-Fi system or a little transistor radio—ok yes, I’m totally dating myself. But whatever your choice of listening device, this week’s show has something for everyone.

A Musical Love-Fest of Local & Newness Awaits

When I spin the big wheel o’ fun on this week’s World Music Show (4-22), I foresee the prize needle landing on both a mix of new music as well as some local World Music. How do I know this? I rigged the board—that’s right. I write the rules of this musical love fest—that’s just how it goes. So sit back, buckle up and get your fingers poised to spin the wheel (because that’s all people want to do, right? Spin?).

Now, here’s the run down of how the slots are going to filled. First up , for all the new music sections, we’ve got artists like:

Unwrapping the Freshness

Ah, can you smell that? That’s right—it’s the freshness of new music that’s going to hit the airwaves on this week’s World Music Show (4/8). If radio or streaming had the power of “smell-o-vision,” then you’d be able to bask in the smell of newly unwrapped CDs. But sadly that app and the ability to smell new digital downloads are not within our grasp yet.
