In-Kind Food Donation Program

The Community Idea Stations depend on its community of volunteers to answer telephones during its TV and Radio membership campaigns. We are able to keep our volunteers energized because of the in-kind food and beverage donations that are provided by local caterers, restaurants, and national chains. By providing an in-kind donation, you have the opportunity to make a unique contribution that may be eligible for a tax deduction, without cash commitment, and receive on-air mentions.
More information about the our In-Kind Food Donor program can be obtained by contacting our Volunteer Coordinator, at volunteer@ideastations.org or (804) 560.8228.
Benefits and Recognition
Each time you provide an In-Kind Food Donation for our volunteers and staff during one of the TV or Radio Membership campaigns, you will receive:
- 1-3 on-air “thank-you” acknowledgements on WCVE PBS (for food donations to TV Campaigns) or WCVE Public Radio (for food donations to Radio Campaigns), based on the value of your donation.
- Prominent signage acknowledging your business on our serving tables. Your business cards and menus can be placed near your donation. Many of our volunteers support those who support us. About 100-200 people per campaign will see and enjoy your donated menu items.
- A link to your business website (or, if you don’t have a website, your phone number listed) on our website.
- Acknowledgement in the Community Idea Station’s eNewsletter, distributed to more than 8,000 members.
- Recognition in Community Idea Station’s newsletter that goes out to more than 1,500 of our volunteers.
- Your support may qualify for a tax deduction (please consult your financial advisor).
A Special Thanks
A special thank-you goes out to the following restaurants, caterers, personal chefs, and businesses for providing an in-kind donation during our past membership campaigns:
BBQ by Dan Bice, Cabot Cheese, Cakes by Iren, Candela’s Pizzeria, Catercorp Catering “The Marquee”, Chef Maura Catering, Ice Cream Connection, Jason’s Deli Community Partners Program, Prince George Family Barbeque, Qdoba Mexican Grill, Ricardo’s Pizza, Savor Café Lunch Porter, Stancakes for Charity, Zaydie’s Granola
Without the support of our In-Kind Food donors we would not be able to enjoy the success that we do. If you have the opportunity, please thank them for supporting the Community Idea Stations. Or better yet, support them with your business!
