World Music Show

The World Music Show with Ian Stewart
Saturdays at 8:00 p.m.
The World Music Show skips around the continents in search of modern (and classic) beats with the hopes of bringing the world closer together. Ian Stewart delves into styles such as Bossa Nova, Reggae, Afro-beat and Japanese pop, and explores regions or countries, such as Brazil, France and Asia to hear the sub-texts offered up from these areas. Plus, the show always showcases local (and American-style) World Music. The motto of The World Music Show is “Don’t Fear Music.” On Twitter @wcveworldmusic.

Get Excited! It's the Annual World Music Holiday Show!

You know, during this time of year, there are a lot of lists floating around. From Christmas & Channukah Wish Lists, to "Best Of" lists to grocery lists to major to-do lists. So, on this week's World Music Show (12/20), I'll jump on the bandwagon by giving a quick list of what to expect during my annual World Music Holiday Show

Tis' the Season

Ok, Ok--we can't escape it. We're too far in, so we might as well accept it. So, whether you're a Scrooge or a proud holiday-sweater-themed-wearing embracer of the season, this week's World Music Show (12/13) may good for whatever side of the holiday fence you happen to fall on. However, this isn't the annual World Music Holiday Show--that'll come next week.

Tour de Force

Sometimes you can't deny it. Sometimes, things align themselves up so well that they become a force all their own. Well, on this week's World Music Show (12/6), the forces of World Music beats line up in this way. The'll be quite a bit to digest and deal with, so it's a good thing that all these beats are done in the name of all that is good.
