The three selections at the beginning of the 8:00 hour are not commercially available. They were recorded by Richmond band Glows in the Dark for a forthcoming documentary about Italian Crime Films. You can learn more about Glows in the Dark at www.glowingrealm.com. You can also hear a feature on the band that we aired in Febuary here: http://www.ideastations.org/radio/jazz/eurocrime-and-experimental-jazz-g...

Great song you played. I just downloaded it off Amazon. I had to wait for the playlist and at first i thought maybe it was No BS or Fight the BigBull. I had to be somewhere but was definitely entertaining the parking lot stretching every last minute out of the song. Thanks for the quality music you bring to us Peter. I had a client in the other day that used to play jazz with you in RVA.

This album seems to strike a chord with a lot of folks. Glad you liked the tune - I will try and feature more from that recording in the coming weeks.

Thanks - Peter

Nice show last night; I must catch Glows In the Dark sometime (although I can't make it to tomorrow's gig).

Sadly I missed the Glows in the Dark show last night. Scott Burton is playing with a very different group called Scuo (just guitar and drums, my friend calls it what heavy metal guys would play if they had the chops) plus a band from Chicago called Starlicker. That show is coming up May 9 at Balliceaux. Also Scott's drummer - Scott Clark - is featured in a post this week at www.npr.org/ablogsupreme
