VCU Researcher Summarizes Latest Work on Combat Concussions

In a special edition of the journal Brain Injury, out this week, a VCU researcher summarizes long term concussion study findings.

In 2013, VCU was awarded a $62 million federal grant to coordinate a multi-center collaboration for the Dept. of Veteran’s Affairs on the effects of mild traumatic brain injuries as well as diagnosis and treatment. The lead investigator, Dr. David Cifu, noted one significant finding.

Now they’re moving from a small test group to a group of 600 individuals.
