Robert Bobb, hired to help Petersburg deal with a multi million dollar financial mess, appeared before the Joint Subcommittee on Local Government Fiscal Stress created last year when the city’s situation became critical.
Bobb told the legislators that he sees “a path forward for the city of Petersburg.”
"We’ve been able to stabilize city’s financials in that we know what the challenges are with cash flow going forward. We have put in place a very strong management team."
He added, that doesn’t mean the city isn’t still in financial stress but is better than it was a year ago.
"We are working with the state. We have provided them with a list of areas where they could financial support some of the city’s efforts. Were that to happen it definitely would help close the financial gap that we have in the current fiscal year."
