Reward Offered in Petersburg Fire Homicide Case

The search continues this morning for Alexander Hill, Jr. the “person of interest” Petersburg Police want to talk to about a fatal fire.

The U.S. Marshal’s Service yesterday posted a $5,000 cash reward for information that leads to Hill’s arrest. Police want him for violating a protective order, assault, and providing false information. The marshals have questions about the four people who died in a fire on Saturday. Police continue to warn that Hill could be armed and, if he is, should be considered dangerous. He is described as African American, about 5’8” 190 pounds with hazel eyes. Two of the four people who died in last weekend’s fire had, according to court records, been stabbed. Pauline Wilkins, Vickie Ansar, Tanique Chavis and two year old Delvari Chavis were found in their burned out home on Harding Street. Anyone with information is asked to call Petersburg Police at 732-4222 or the nearest police department’s 911 number.
