The City of Petersburg’s Office of Volunteerism and Community Engagement began yesterday (9/11) to sign up volunteers for its new Ambassadors Programs.
Darnetta Tyus is the city’s new Deputy City Manager and Director of Community Affairs. She most recently held a similar job as Manager of Community Engagement in Washington, D.C. “We’ll focus on all of the departments and agencies who actually impact the lives of residents to trust their government again.”
Tyus has launched two volunteer Ambassadors Programs to give citizens, civic and church groups, non profits and businesses opportunities to get involved. “And to have them serve as invaluable partners to us in how we move the city forward. Bringing a real sense of community outreach and engagement to the City of Petersburg.”
