Donald Trump made infrastructure spending a major theme of his campaign for President. Now that he’s in the White House, he’s receiving letters from the 6,000 members of a bridge replacement Facebook group, each asking for his help.
Kilmarnock businessman Steve Bonner says its not as crazy as it might seem. Bonner says, “I look at it like this, he’s just the type of person, that if you sending him something, he likes examples. And there’s no better example of infrastructure need than the two mile span crossing the Rappahannock that is now 60 years old and not adequate for today’s traffic.”
Bonner also says, “We need a wider bridge. That’s the big problem with it, the width, the bridge wasn’t designed to carry to the thousands of cars that cross it each day.”
