Governor Northam Remains Positive On State Budget

As legislators headed back to their districts without a budget Saturday afternoon (3/10), Governor Ralph Northam said he remains optimistic.

Speaking to press as the chambers adjourned, Governor Northam said a few days away from the capitol could be positive for lawmakers who must eventually work out a spending plan.

Northam says he’s still hoping the chambers will eventually agree to a spending plan that includes provisions for Medicaid expansion. If not, he is also still willing to amend their budget and send it back.
