Goochland County Launches Salary Study to Retain Employees

Goochland Supervisors are taking steps to reverse a trend. The goal is to attract and retain good people to work for the county.

Kelly Parrish has been Goochland’s Director of Human Resources since 2012.

"This year we found that our turnover rate had increase and we’re always looking for ways to attract and retain employees."

She said a bench mark salary study will help guide their actions:

"To make sure that are salaries are comparable to the other jurisdictions in the surrounding localities."

Changes to the county employee health care plan are also being evaluated.

"We try to look at everything, I mean, we want to make Goochland County a destination of choice."

Goochland has 109 fulltime and 32 part time employees and 78 full time and 14 part time Constitutional Officers on its payroll.
