Go To Work Offers Alternative Transportation for Underserved Population

The Greater Richmond Partnership has announced that GoToWork, a personal transportation service, has located in the area, plans to invest half a million dollars and hire 40 people to provide transportation to people who want to work, but don’t have transportation.

The company provides van transportation to and from work for people who live in areas with limited public transportation.

Grace Festa at the Greater Richmond Partnership said of the new arrival, “This is a double win for the area, because not only is Go To Work creating jobs through its ride-sharing activity, but it is also supporting the area’s employers by giving them access to a larger labor pool. Employees benefit because they now have another ride-share option which allows them to get to places of work not serviced by public transportation.”

The company uses 12 and 15 passenger vans and handicapped accessible shuttle buses, and is a service of the Childs Foundation, whose mission is to improve quality of life, encourage sustained employment and independence from public assistance.
