FDA Proposes To Regulate ECigarettes, Calls For Public Comment

The Food and Drug Administration yesterday said it intends to regulate the booming market of electronic cigarettes. The move would place restrictions on a nearly two billion dollar industry that so far has operated without regulation and it represents a leap into the unknown. But the FDA is pressing the issue. Last year, CDC reported a dramatic increase in the number of high school students who tired ecigarettes, and public health officials worry that might tempt them to try traditional smoking, which so far, has been on the decline.
