The Chesterfield Board of Supervisors re-elected both the Chairwoman and Vice-Chairwoman who now will serve their second consecutive year. Dorothy Jaeckle, of the Bermuda District and Leslie Haley of Midlothian, were easily and fully approved to continue leading the board.
Jaeckle said that some of the goals the board hopes to accomplish include addressing some of the holes that the county has had in their budget in terms of stabilizing the police department and sheriff to help with their recruiting.
Jaeckle also mentioned the need to help the transportation needs, “We’re looking at moving toward our entire registration fee going into a transportation fund, instead of the general fund. And then we’re also looking into transportation solutions other than cars.”
Jaeckle said she’s not sure what that will be yet.
