Bon Secours and Safe Harbor Announce Shelter for Human Trafficking Victims

Safe Harbor and Bon Secours Richmond Health System have announced the establishment of the first area shelter for victims of human trafficking.

It is a worldwide problem, but Henrico has prosecuted more cases than anybody else in Virginia.

It was a natural alliance between Bon Secours and Safe Harbor that began 16 years ago, that yesterday (12/6), culminated in the region’s first dedicated shelter for human trafficking victims. The confidential location will provide shelter for 15 residents next year, and plans to open in early January 2017.
