The Washington based Robert Bobb Group turnaround consultants presented an update of Petersburg’s finances last night to city council and proposed a balanced budget.
Council heard that the 2017 fiscal plan it adopted in September isn’t working. Overtime is up, morale is down. City council may not be able to approve the Bobb budget proposals at its meeting next Tuesday.
Barb Rudolph, a founder of citizen’s group Clean Sweep Petersburg, said because of the size of the 2017 budget amendments, the Code of Virginia requires a public hearing and newspaper notice seven days before a vote.
