Chinese Dance Company Cancels Richmond Performance, Denies Rumors of Diplomatic Pressure

 This Saturday’s performance at the Carpenter Theatre Center Stage by Shen Yun, a classical Chinese performing arts company, has been canceled. The cancellation led to rumors that it might be related to diplomatic tensions between Beijing and Washington after a Chinese dissident fled to the American embassy in Beijing last week.
