      WCVE Public Radio, in partnership with Leadership Metro Richmond, brings you This I Believe -- in which LMR members reflect and share personal thoughts based on values and beliefs that help to shape our lives, community and society.
     Leadership Metro Richmond is a community leadership organization designed to connect and inspire leaders in our region.
     This I Believe is an international organization engaging people in writing and sharing essays describing the core values that guide their daily lives. The project is based on a popular 1950s radio series hosted by famed broadcaster Edward R. Murrow.
     Today's essay is by Thomas Raper, a Richmond native and marketing professional,  LMR class of 2011, a strong advocate for regional collaboration and community involvement.
