Tragic Accidents Preceed Safe Boating Week

On Saturday, the U.S. Coast Guard begins Boating Safety Week. Earlier this month, three high-profile boating accidents were in the headlines for the number of people involved and their tragic circumstances. Virginia law enforcement officials will be out in full force this week to educate the public.
WCVE Northern Neck Correspondent Pamela D’Angelo reports.

Great Job! The safe boating feature is a great addition to National Safe Boating Week (May 21-27) and we (Coast Guard Auxiliary) appreciate the time and effort that went into the background for this article. The two 'issues' we have with recreational boating are alcohol use and not wearing life jackets. I hope this feature will help recreational boaters to be more aware of their responsibilities while they're on the water!

Thanks again,
