Chesterfield man dies in Route 288 wreck
A man, with two children in his car, died in a single car accident on Route 288 just after 5:30 last night.
State Police say the 1998 Nissan Pathfinder, driven by 63 year-old Earl Calloway, ran off the left side of the road, struck the embankment and came to rest on Route 360 westbound after striking the jersey wall there.
Calloway was taken to Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center, where he later died. His grandsons, ages 9 and 11, were in the backseat and had only minor injuries. They were treated at St. Francis.
While it's not clear if Calloway was wearing a seatbelt, both of the boys were buckled up. The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
