Picassso is coming! Special free bus route to VMFA
The To-the-Bottoms-and-Back free bus service will add a new route on Saturday the 19th to coincide with the opening of the Picasso exhibit at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
Two buses will be operating on a new daytime route.
Appleman: We always felt it was necessary for Richmond to have a tourism circulator.
2BNB’s Sandy Appleman.
Appleman: We have this Picasso exhibit coming that's gonna bring close to 400,000 people through the city over the course of four months, and it's an amazing opportunity for the city to really show off what it has, in addition to, of course, the VMFA and Picasso.
The busses will run a 50-minute route every half-hour on Saturdays through May 15th.
Appleman: From 10am to 6pm, and they'll stop at some major attractions like Tredegar, the State Capitol, Shockoe Slip, Richmond Visitors Center, Maggie Walker site and of course, VMFA.
Most of the downtown museums and attractions, Appleman noted, are within walking distance of the stops and just like 2BNB’s night service, the tourism route buses are free.
