Dinwiddie suspect arrested in Maryland
Brandon Pegram, wanted in Dinwiddie County for an incident that happened late Sunday night, has been arrested in Maryland.
Pegram, who’s from Stoney Creek, is 23. The stolen car he was driving was seen Tuesday afternoon around three by deputies in Harford County, Maryland. He refused to stop and was pursued into Baltimore County where police and State Troopers joined in, chasing him onto northbound I-95.
Greg Shipley, Maryland State Police, says Pegram tried to hit two cars and nearly ran down two deputies deploying stop sticks.
Shipley: At that point, upon observing these types of aggressive actions, a Maryland State Police sargeant used his vehicle to disable the suspect's vehicle and ultimately, trap him inside that car so that police officers could attempt to apprehend him.
He resisted arrest, but was taken into custody. He’s facing a slew of charges in Maryland.
Shipley: Several of them are felonies, first-degree assault and vehicle theft, reckless endangerment.
He’s also charged with destruction of property and a number of traffic violations. In Dinwiddie, Pegram is charged with robbery, felony assault and kidnapping.
