Police release pictures of Morgan Harrington’s missing necklace, hoping for clues

Virginia State police are releasing some previously withheld information on a slain Virginia Tech student in hopes they can find her killer. Charles Fishburne reports.

State police are still looking for Morgan Harrington’s killer, and one year after her body was found in a field in Albermarle County, they have released details of her missing necklace.

Geller:  It's a very distinctive, very beautiful diamond and black design Swarovski necklace.

Corinne Geller, Virginia State Police.

Geller:  She was wearing it the night she went to the concert and, unfortunately, it has not been recovered since.

Investigators kept her personal effects a secret, hoping her assailant might tip his hand.  But now, they are circulating pictures of the necklace, still hoping for a break in the case.

Geller:  Catch someone's eye, maybe trigger a memory, someone might recall seeing her, seeing the necklace the night she disappeared.

Police are checking with pawn shops and flea markets to see if the necklace has turned up.
