Center Stage wins reconstruction award
The renovation of the structures that became Richmond Center Stage has again been recognized.
Already the winner of a "Best of 2010" award from McGraw Hill's Mid-Atlantic Construction magazine in the Renovation and Restoration category, the project won the 2010 Reconstruction Award from Building Design and Construction magazine.
Parison: Our architects, Wilson and Butler, which were teamed up with Gilbean building company and Crisman Construction, worked together to build this amazing performing arts center, which included the renovation of the Carpenter Theater.
Richard Parison, Jr. is Executive Director of the Center Stage Foundation. He noted that the award recognizes the meticulous restoration of the theater in its original 1920’s Spanish Baroque styling and the seamless expansion into the Thalhimers department store.
Parison: We feel that this award reminds Richmonders that we are very fortunate to have this amazing, world-class performing arts center here in our backyard.
