Man attacked in Hopewell testifies
The four men accused of attacking a man they found on the sex offender registry were in Hopewell General District Court yesterday.
Rudolph Ellis testified that on October the 16th, he was approached by 19-year old Daniel Narron, 20-year old Damon Silvestro, 25-year old Eric Harris, and 21-year old Thomas McCall outside of a store.
He said Narron yelled “aren’t you that child molester?” He told the court he feels lucky to be alive after being chased and then knocked off of his moped by an SUV driven by Narron.
Prosecutors withdrew a failure to report a hit-and-run charge against the four, but a charge of attempted malicious wounding by mob was certified to a grand jury for each of them and that’s a felony. Narron also faces an attempted murder charge, which was also certified during his preliminary hearing.
A charge for misuse of the sex offender registry was withdrawn.
