A former community association treasurer admits guilt
The former treasurer of a community association in Albemarle County has entered a guilty plea to two federal charges.
46-year old Michael Comer of Charlottesville entered pleas to mail fraud and tax evasion yesterday.
He was the treasurer of the Glenmore Community Association, which includes a clubhouse and an equestrian center. He was also an officer with Glenmore Associates, PBK Real Estate and Kessler Enterprises.
He admitted that he embezzled money from all of them and didn’t pay taxes on two and a half million dollars in taxable income from 2003 to last year.
Comer could go to prison for 25 years when he’s sentenced at the end of March.
