Founder of Ben & Jerry’s to Speak Monday Night
The Virginia Interfaith Center will present one of the founders of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Monday evening at 6 at the Holocaust Museum.
Ben Cohen will be the featured speaker at An Evening for the Commonwealth.

Smith: Ben Cohen is going to speak about balancing the tension between shrewd capitalism and social responsibility. These were waters he was able to navigate and create a very successful business on the world's best ice cream, and he was able to do that in a socially responsible way that helped agribusiness; it helped all of the suppliers, and in the end, became incredibly profitable.

Smith: Ben and Jerry's is known for creative capitalism, and they have invested tremendous amounts of money into organizations and into movements that really seek to build up communities through business. It's a new way of thinking about corporate responsibility and it's a win-win for everyone.
