A Plaque will be Dedicated on the Bridge at UVA Where Morgan Harrington Was Last Seen
A 20-year old Virginia Tech woman who disappeared at a UVA concert…and whose body was found three months later…will be remembered in Charlottesville this weekend. Charles Fishburne reports.
Morgan Harrington’s body was found on an Albermarle County farm; her killer is still at large.
Her parents will speak at the dedication of a plaque on the bridge where she was last seen this weekend. And there will be a film, dedicated to Morgan by her art teacher at Virginia Tech, who took one of her paintings 13 thousand miles to a Tibetan village, where they prayed together about an earlier Virginia Tech tragedy and created what they call a 'bridge of understanding' between the two cultures, something Morgan was eager to learn.
Vance: Helpful is a good word about why she planned to go out into the world.
Morgan’s teacher, Jane Vance.
Vance: With me, she planned to go to the remote west of Nepal and she said she wanted to have that experience because she was going to be a teacher.
Her father said Morgan’s killer "stopped her life but he did not stop the goodness" she set out to accomplish.
