Central Virginia CEO’s Optimistic About Sales and Employment
CEO’s in Central Virginia are optimistic about the economy for the next six months, according to a survey released yesterday by the Robins School of Business and the Virginia Council of CEOs. Charles Fishburne reports.
Third-quarter survey results are encouraging.
McRoberts: Our economic outlook survey interviews about 72 small and mid-size business owners in the Richmond area.
Scott McRoberts is Executive Director of the Virginia Council of CEOs.
McRoberts: The majority of the respondents believe that their sales are going to increase in the next two quarters and as well as employment.
Seventy-two percent said they expect sales to improve in the next six months, and 52 percent saw an increase in employment. It is the second time out for the survey, a joint project of the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business and the Council of CEOs, and McRoberts says it's a chance to put some numbers on what his people are saying.
McRoberts: Oh, I'm not surprised at the numbers at all. In my conversations with small business owners and CEOs around our community, business is picking up.
