King and Queen County Man Indicted for 2007 Murder
A 41 year old man has been indicted by a King and Queen County Grand Jury for a murder committed four years ago.
Floyd Newton III, of Little Plymouth, is charged with a murder that happened on the night of September 22nd, 2007.
Molnar: The King and Queen County Sheriff's office responded to the 700 block of Devil's Three Jump Road after receiving a 911 call, finding a victim who had suffered a single gunshot wound to the head. That victim, Toni R. Stanley, age 35, was Newton's live-in girlfriend at the time of her death.
State Police Sargeant Thomas Molnar explained that Stanley’s body was found in an empty field next to the home the couple shared. State Police were asked to investigate and have never stopped working the case.
Molnar: Still an on-going case, but evidence was received after forensic evidence was submitted to the lab and based on that evidence, the case was presented to the Commonwealth's Attorney and this direct indictment for murder in the first degree was the result.
Newton is being held without bond for arraignment on Wednesday.
