Family of Teenager Killed in Goochland Offers Reward
The Family of Billy Lee Maxwell III is offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest in connection with his still unexplained death on Route 250 in Goochland.
17 year-old Billy Lee Maxwell was found early on the morning of September the 18th.
Agnew: There was very little physical evidence on the scene; there was virtually no witness as to what happened.
Goochland Sheriff Jim Agnew said Maxwell had gotten a ride home from a party and, for some reason, got out on 250.
Agnew: A newspaper carrier had seen him hitchhiking on Route 250 as he was walking down the westbound lane, basically in the middle of the lane.
The boy’s mother asked if she could post a reward.
Agnew: And we helped them design a reward poster and got it to them so that they could distribute it throughout the county, and the family has raised a rather significant reward for any information leading to the arrest of the person who may have been responsible for hitting Billy.
Investigators want to hear from anyone with information at 556-5349 or call Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
