State Police Recovered a Man’s Body Just Off I-95
Virginia State Police have retrieved a body of a man from a swamp just off I-95 in Prince George County. Charles Fishburne reports.
State Police Sargeant Tom Molnar was at the scene late yesterday, just as their search and rescue team recovered the body.
Molnar: Currently, along interstate I-95 northbound, State Police was called around 12:45 this afternoon from a passing truck driver in reference to a body that was floating in the Warwick swamp located just off the interstate near or parallel to the interstate of I-95.
He would not say if the body had been identified, or if foul play was suspected, only that the investigation was “wide open.”
Molnar: They are going to transport this body to the Virginia Medical Examiner's office in Richmond.
One lane of I-95 North in Prince George was shut down for several hours yesterday to make the recovery operation safer.
